About Me

Benji Vaughan grew up in the kaleidoscopic world of the late 90s Goa trance scene, where he learnt his craft as an electronic producer. This scene was a melting pot of inspirations from techno to Brian Eno, Pink Floyd to Aphex Twin, free parties to internet evangelism and Benji has always reflected this extraordinary time back in his music. He signed with legendary psychedelic label Twisted and released a  string of classic psy-trance albums as Prometheus, going on to headline festivals around the world and drawing huge crowds for legendary parties hosted by Twisted Records known as Twistivals.
In 2004, Benji teamed up with label mate  Simon Posford to form Younger Brother, a band that gained iconic status around the the Psychedelic scenes of Europe and the burgeoning electronic music scene of US.  They headlined festivals such as Camp Bison and formed a live band with leading lights of the US jam scene such as Joe Russo and Tommy Hamilton.

In 2014, Benji released Even Tundra, his first album under his own name and a deeply personal journey in electronic music that he unabashedly described as 'music I want to hear, not designed to sell, get gigs or appeal to anyone but me!'  However, soon after its release Benji announced he was done with music and disappeared.
That was the last that was heard from him until 2023, when out of the blue he announced his return with the release of Eidolon' his second album under his own name and a string of new Prometheus EPs. With rumours of new Younger Brother music in the works, Benji and his unique sound are back to take crowds on a journey through all corners of progressive, psychedelic, electronic music.
